Mayawati Reshuffles BSP Leadership: Rejects Akash, Elevates Ishan Anand
Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has firmly ruled out the return of her nephew, Akash Anand, stating that reinstating him would betray the party.
Addressing internal family and organizational shifts, Mayawati accused Akash of being influenced by his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, and confirmed that both Akash and his sister Deepika remain completely barred from the BSP.
In a decisive move to restructure leadership, Mayawati announced that Ishan Anand, another nephew, will soon be assigned a respectable party role.
However, she issued a strict warning that any anti-party activity by Ishan would lead to his immediate expulsion.
In that event, she vowed that no other member of Anand Kumar’s family would ever receive a party post, ensuring a grassroots Dalit worker is elevated instead.
Emphasizing the movement's ideology over family ties, Mayawati has called a crucial all-India meeting to align cadres ahead of upcoming political challenges.
