ABVP Triumphs in DUSU Polls with 3-1 Sweep; Independent Shokeen Secures VP Post

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) tightened its grip on campus politics, securing a dominant 3-1 majority in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections.

ABVP candidate Yash Dabas emerged victorious in a high-stakes presidential race, defeating his closest rival from the National Students' Union of India (NSUI).

Continuing the winning streak for the right-wing student organisation, Riya Chhawdi clinched the secretary position, while Lakshya Raj Singh bagged the joint secretary seat.

The sole disruption to an absolute sweep came from the vice-presidential contest.

Independent candidate and former NSUI member Deepanshu Shokeen pulled off a massive upset, securing the VP post by a commanding margin over major political fronts.

The results concluded a high-turnout election marked by fierce campaigning across North Campus.

While ABVP celebrated retaining control of the central panel, the victory of an independent candidate highlights shifting voter dynamics within the university.
