Uttarakhand Leads the Way in Reintegrating Returning Agniveers
As the first batch of Agniveers completes its four-year tenure, Uttarakhand has established a robust framework to secure their post-service futures.
Deeply connected to military traditions, the state has launched India's first dedicated Agniveer Employment Cell to manage career counseling, skill mapping, and job matching.
A cornerstone of this initiative is the implementation of a 10% horizontal reservation in state government recruitment for uniformed Group-C posts, including the police, forest, and disaster management departments.
Furthermore, the state coordinates with public and private sectors to leverage the discipline and technical expertise of returning soldiers.
By combining guaranteed public sector reservations with proactive entrepreneurship support and a centralized digital database, Uttarakhand is ensuring a smooth transition.
These targeted measures effectively address employment anxieties while channeling disciplined, highly skilled youth into vital sectors of the state's growing economy.
