Speaking during an interactive session with students at Chanakya National Law University in Patna, the CJI reassured attendees that the judicial system stands as a steadfast guardian of democratic freedoms.

Addressing broader topics, Justice Kant also defended the confidentiality surrounding dissenting opinions in the collegium process, explaining that total transparency must be balanced against protecting a candidate's personal dignity and reputation.

Additionally, he voiced support for modernizing legal education by proposing a streamlined four-year curriculum combined with a mandatory final-year court apprenticeship.
