CM Omar Abdullah has announced Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet Expansion and Reshuffle to Take Place Next Week
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced that the much-awaited expansion and reshuffle of his Council of Ministers will take place within the first two to three days of next week.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at the Raj Bhawan, CM Omar stated that he has requested the LG to allocate an appropriate time slot for the oath-taking ceremony. He confirmed that consultations regarding ministerial selections have already been successfully concluded with National Conference President Farooq Abdullah, asserting that the final list is completely ready.
Brushing aside any scope for further lobbying, the Chief Minister explicitly advised party legislators seeking ministerial berths not to approach him or party leaders, reiterating that all decisions regarding inductions have already been finalized.
Currently operating with six members—including the Chief Minister—against a permissible limit of nine under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, this upcoming overhaul aims to fill three vacant ministerial berths, improve administrative efficiency, and ensure balanced regional representation across the Union Territory.
