Akhilesh Yadav Emphasizes Alliance Victory Over Seat-Sharing for 2027 UP Polls
Lucknow: Amid ongoing deliberations between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress party regarding seat distribution for the upcoming 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, SP national president Akhilesh Yadav asserted that ensuring the ultimate victory of the opposition alliance is far more crucial than haggling over individual seat-sharing numbers.
Akhilesh Yadav emphasized that a clear collective objective makes political cooperation seamless. He stated that the primary debate should not revolve around how many constituencies each partner receives or which party contests specific seats, but rather whether the alliance successfully emerges victorious.
Reiterating his core stance, he noted, "It is not about seats, it is about victory." Framing the coalition's mission around larger democratic ideals, Yadav stressed that a united effort is imperative to protect the Constitution, safeguard reservation policies, prevent the rise of communalism, and restore long-term social harmony across the state. This statement serves as a strategic appeal to maintain coalition discipline and keep internal friction to a minimum as pre-poll seat negotiations progress
