Delhi Police Detains Individuals With Criminal Records Ahead of CJP Protest
Ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar, Delhi Police detained approximately 30 to 40 individuals with criminal records across all 15 districts of the national capital.
The detentions form part of sweeping preventive security measures launched by law enforcement to maintain public order.
Authorities stepped up surveillance around the residences and movements of individuals suspected of potentially mobilizing or influencing participants for the rally.
The capital saw heavy security deployments and widespread transit restrictions after police denied official permission for the gathering.
Meanwhile, organizers and student outfits alleged that thousands of supporters and volunteers faced targeted detentions, house arrests, and travel obstructions across multiple states prior to the planned protest.
