Delhi Lockdown: Over 2,000 Detained as Defiant CJP Protesters Defy Ban to March on Jantar Mantar

New Delhi has turned into a fortress as security forces launched a massive crackdown against the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) anti-CEC protest march.

With over 2,000 demonstrators and high-profile opposition leaders—including Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal—detained by Delhi Police, authorities have sealed borders, restricted transit, and imposed strict Section 163 curbs across the capital.

Despite the overwhelming security grid and denied permissions, the CJP leadership remains entirely defiant, calling on supporters to bypass blockades.

In a rallying cry, the party declared that wherever security forces intercept them, that exact location will become their Jantar Mantar.

The sweeping preventive arrests have drawn fierce condemnation from opposition figures, who have labeled the heavy-handed clampdown an authoritarian assault on democratic rights and free expression.
