Noida International Airport welcomed its very first foreign aircraft as three Russian military planes, led by a heavy-lift Ilyushin Il-76 transport, touched down on the tarmac.
This milestone arrival carried an advanced security detail and logistical equipment for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming delegation.
The high-profile deployment is part of elaborate security and coordination preparations ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit, hosted at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
With an influx of international leaders, global delegations, and specialized VVIP fleets arriving over the coming days, aviation authorities are utilizing the newly operational Noida facility to divert heavy traffic and alleviate congestion at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The successful handling of these military-grade transport flights underscores the operational readiness of the National Capital Region's newest aviation hub.
