US Suspends Cognizant Green Card Filings Amid Visa Fraud Probe
The U.S. Department of Labor has suspended new Permanent Labor Certification (PERM) applications for Cognizant, halting the crucial first step for foreign employees seeking employment-based Green Cards.
Announced by Labor Department Inspector General Anthony D'Esposito, the freeze is part of an ongoing federal investigation alongside the White House Fraud Task Force into alleged H-1B and PERM program abuses, wage discrepancies, and recruitment practices.
While existing PERM approvals remain valid, the stoppage blocks Cognizant from initiating new green card sponsorships until the probe concludes.
