Mayawati Conditions Akash Anand’s Return on Father-in-Law’s Political Retirement
Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has linked her nephew Akash Anand’s political reinstatement directly to the complete retirement of his father-in-law, former Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Siddharth.
In a public statement, Mayawati announced that Akash’s core responsibilities and leadership role will only be restored if Siddharth steps away entirely from active politics.
The BSP supremo accused Siddharth of prioritizing personal family ambitions over party interests, which previously led to internal factionalism and the eventual removal of both men from their high-ranking positions.
With upcoming state assembly elections approaching, Mayawati stressed that party discipline and movement-focused loyalty must supersede familial ties.
Akash Anand was previously stripped of his title as national coordinator following escalating internal tensions.
The latest ultimatum signals a strict stance against nepotistic overreach within the organization, leaving Akash's future trajectory entirely contingent upon his family cutting all active political ties.
