Enforcement Directorate Raids Karnataka PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi and MP Daughter Over Excise Probe
BENGALURU:The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched synchronized searches at roughly 18 locations linked to Karnataka Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Satish Jarkiholi and his daughter, Chikkodi Lok Sabha MP Priyanka Jarkiholi.
The PMLA-driven raids target premises across Karnataka and Maharashtra, encompassing key properties in Bengaluru, Belagavi, and Gokak.
Investigation Focus: The financial probe centers on suspected corruption and procedural irregularities regarding the issuance and renewal of bar and excise licenses within the state.
Alleged Money Laundering: Investigators are scrutinizing whether official influence was leveraged to facilitate illegal licenses and if the resulting financial gains were funneled through shell networks or laundered.
Political Fallout: The sweeping actions have drawn sharp political reactions, with opposition parties demanding accountability while associates of the family maintain that the procedures follow standard political targeting.
Official statements regarding document seizures or detained assets are anticipated as the multi-city operation proceeds.
