Rahul Gandhi’s Convoy Meets With Accident in UP’s Sultanpur Leader Safe
Sultanpur\UP — Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, escaped unhurt on Monday morning after multiple vehicles in his motorcade collided along the Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district.
The incident occurred near milestone 89.5 in the Haliyapur police jurisdiction while Gandhi was traveling from Lucknow Airport toward the Sultanpur district court. According to eyewitnesses and local authorities, sudden heavy braking by a vehicle in the convoy triggered a chain-reaction rear-end collision involving several escort vehicles, support cars, and an accompanying ambulance.
While the vehicle directly transporting Rahul Gandhi remained completely undamaged and the Congress leader was unharmed, several trailing vehicles suffered minor to moderate body damage. A few party workers and security personnel traveling in the rear escort vehicles sustained minor injuries and received immediate medical attention on-site.
Following the brief disruption, Gandhi’s motorcade resumed its journey to Sultanpur under heightened security protocols. He was traveling to the district headquarters to appear before a special MP-MLA court regarding an ongoing 2018 defamation case related to remarks against BJP leadership.
Rahul Gandhi was en route from Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport to Sultanpur to appear before a special MP-MLA court.
