Delhi Unveils Strict Winter Anti-Pollution Plan: Construction Ban, 'No PUCC, No Fuel' Norm Imposed
The Delhi government has announced a rigorous winter action plan to tackle the capital's severe air pollution.
Effective October 1, the strict "No PUCC, No Fuel" rule will bar vehicles without a valid pollution certificate from refueling at all ANPR-equipped pumps.
A phased construction ban begins November 1, culminating in a total halt on all building and demolition activities from December 10 to January 20.
Additionally, government and private offices must implement a 50% work-from-home mandate alongside staggered office timings from November 1 to February 28.
Interstate commercial vehicles failing BS-VI emission norms face entry restrictions, and public parking fees will double to curb private vehicle usage.
These preemptive measures aim to significantly reduce seasonal smog and improve air quality during peak winter months.
