Pakistan Navy Strengthens Maritime Deterrence with Hangor Submarine Missile Test
The Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted the maiden live weapon firing of its newly inducted PNS/M Hangor in the North Arabian Sea.
As the lead vessel of the advanced Hangor-class, constructed in collaboration with China, the submarine accurately struck a designated long-range target using an anti-ship cruise missile.
Equipped with cutting-edge Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) technology, the Hangor-class significantly extends underwater endurance and enhances tactical stealth.
This landmark exercise—witnessed by the Chief of the Naval Staff—validates the submarine's formidable combat readiness.
This milestone follows previous defense acquisitions like the JF-17 fighter jets, underscoring Islamabad's deepening strategic partnership with Beijing.
By modernizing its fleet with advanced stealth and long-range strike capabilities, Pakistan aims to bolster its naval deterrence, secure critical sea lines of communication, and reshape the strategic balance across the northern Arabian Sea.
