BJP Agent Arrested in Jharkhand for Mass Deletion of Minority Voter Forms
In Jharkhand's Godda district, a BJP Booth Level Agent, Vinay Kumar Mandal, was arrested after allegedly submitting 200 Form 7 applications to systematically remove minority voters from electoral rolls.
The targeted names included the local Booth Level Officer, Sajida Bibi, and her husband.
The incident highlights growing tensions surrounding the state's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists.
Opposition INDIA bloc parties condemned the mass deletion attempts as a coordinated effort to disenfranchise minority communities.
Conversely, BJP local leadership defended the filings as legitimate administrative challenges, claiming their agents are being wrongfully targeted by political rivals.
Following his arrest for forgery and intentional provocation, Mandal was granted bail, leaving local civil society groups and election officials grappling with deep concerns over electoral integrity ahead of upcoming polls.
