Shravan Month Horror: Cable Pole Collapse Rumors Spark Deadly Stampede in Lakhisarai
At least six devotees lost their lives and several others sustained injuries in a devastating stampede at the historic Ashok Dham temple in Bihar's Lakhisarai district.
The tragic incident unfolded during the holy month of Shravan as thousands of pilgrims thronged the temple to offer prayers to Lord Shiva.
The chaos was triggered by an overwhelming crowd surge after multiple trains arrived at the nearby railway halt.
According to local authorities, heavy pressure caused barricades to give way, coinciding with the collapse of a nearby cable pole.
This caused panic and rumors of live wires, prompting pilgrims to trip, fall, and get crushed in the resulting melee.
District administration and rescue teams rushed to the site, shifting the injured to local hospitals.
Bihar Chief Minister expressed profound grief over the accident and instructed officials to ensure immediate, comprehensive medical assistance for the victims and their grieving families.
