India's campaign at the 2026 Asian Games reached a thrilling milestone as the dynamic shooting duo of Suruchi Singh and Kamaljeet clinched the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event.
Displaying nerves of steel and unmatched precision, the pair dominated the competition from the outset. They shattered the previous Asian record with a phenomenal combined score of 484.6 points.
South Korea put up a spirited fight to claim the silver medal with 478.0 points, while Iran secured the bronze.
This magnificent victory marks India’s second gold medal of the Games—following an earlier triumph in women's cricket—and elevates the nation's total medal count to 19.
The phenomenal performance of Suruchi and Kamaljeet has once again underscored India's rising dominance in international shooting sports, inspiring the entire contingent in Aichi-Nagoya.
