Dubey Apologizes to Akhilesh Over 'Tinnu-Tipu' Remark
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has tendered a formal apology before Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav’s counsel, resolving a high-stakes defamation row.
The dispute erupted when Dubey shared a post on X linking Yadav to Ramashankar alias "Tinnu"—a former driver under investigation in an Ayodhya temple theft probe. Sharing the alleged call records, Dubey cryptically wrote, "Was Tinnu talking to Tipu?" (referencing Yadav's nickname).
Yadav strongly denied the fabrication, demanding the post's immediate deletion and initiating legal action through the SP legal cell. Despite initially dismissing the threats with mocking remarks, Dubey ultimately made a formal courtroom climbdown. He clarified that he had no intention of defaming the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, effectively defusing the legal battle, though political tensions between the parties remain high.
