Monsoon Session: All-Party Meet Sets Stage for High-Stakes Faceoff

New Delhi: Ahead of the Monsoon Session starting July 20, the government has convened an all-party meeting on July 19 to outline its legislative agenda. However, a smooth session is unlikely as the opposition gears up to corner the ruling NDA on several volatile issues.

The primary flashpoint will be the 130th Constitution Amendment Bill, specifically a controversial clause mandating the automatic removal of the PM, Chief Ministers, or ministers if held in judicial custody for 30 consecutive days. Additionally, the opposition will fiercely target the government over the systemic failures of the NEET-UG paper leak scandal and a breach of privilege notice against Defence Minister Rajnath Singh over his "Operation Sindoor" remarks.

Despite the opposition's heat, massive recent defections from the TMC, AAP, and Shiv Sena (UBT) have significantly bolstered the NDA's numerical strength, setting the stage for an intense parliamentary showdown until August 13.
