Two Sisters Found Dead in Goa Leave Behind Cash for Own Funeral
Tragedy struck Canacona, South Goa, where two elderly, unmarried sisters, Rekha (73) and Medha (70) Kamat, were found dead in an advanced stage of decomposition at their home.
Police discovered the bodies after neighbors reported a foul smell and alerted relatives.
Investigators recovered a heartbreaking suicide note alongside Rs 15,000 in cash, with explicit instructions that the money be used solely to pay for their cremation and last rites.
Initial police findings suggest no signs of forced entry, pointing toward suicide driven by severe isolation and distress.
Local authorities noted that the reclusive siblings had recently expressed feelings of hopelessness and a lack of desire to continue living.
Their bodies were sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examinations to determine the exact cause of death, while local officials assist with the investigation.
