Ram Mandir Trust Accepts Champat Rai’s Resignation Amid Theft Row
AYODHYA: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Monday formally accepted the resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra on moral grounds.
The development follows an ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into an alleged ₹7–8 crore donation embezzlement scandal at the temple. While neither leader is named in the FIR, eight individuals have been arrested so far.
The VHP’s Bajrang Lal Bagra will permanently succeed Rai, while trustee Krishna Mohan takes interim charge. The Trust has pledged absolute transparency and strict governance reforms.
