AYODHYA: RAM TEMPLE TREASURER DENIES ROLE IN DONATION CONTROVERSY, BACKS SIT PROBE
AYODHYA : Ahead of a crucial Trust meeting scheduled on Monday, Govind Dev Giri, the treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, broke his silence on the donation embezzlement controversy. In a two-page statement, he strongly denied any role in the daily cash-counting process and backed the ongoing SIT probe.
Giri clarified that he resides in Pune and visits Ayodhya only once a month. "Daily cash counting is handled by local trustees and SBI. I do not even hold a chequebook," he stated. Expressing deep hurt over the theft, he demanded strict punishment for the culprits, regardless of their influence. Eight people have been arrested so far.
