Odisha: The 13th BRICS Education Ministers' Conference, held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, placed special emphasis on fostering mutual cooperation, technical partnerships, and innovation to overcome contemporary global challenges in education.
India's Chairship (2026) The meeting was held under India's chairship, with the central theme being "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability."
Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Strengthening education and care during a child's formative years. Skill Development (TVET): Promoting technical and vocational training under the 'BRICS TVET Cooperation Alliance.' Research and Startups: Encouraging joint research, academic partnerships, and a startup culture.
Mutual Recognition of Degrees and Qualifications (MRQ) Recognizing academic qualifications among member nations to facilitate student mobility and cooperation in higher education.
Representatives from Brazil, Russia, China, and South Africa, as well as new BRICS member nations (such as Iran, Ethiopia, the UAE, and Indonesia), participated in this high-level meeting and agreed upon a joint declaration to align education systems with future needs.
