Indian National Gurdeep Singh Shot Dead in NYC Street Altercation

A 27-year-old Indian national, Gurdeep Singh, was shot and killed late Friday night following a street altercation in the East New York neighborhood of Queens.

Surveillance footage captured a heated dispute between two individuals that rapidly escalated into gunfire. Singh, who had lived in the United States for over a decade, suffered a fatal chest wound. Emergency responders rushed him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The gunman fled the scene immediately after the shooting in a waiting vehicle. The New York Police Department (NYPD) has launched an active homicide investigation and is reviewing neighborhood security footage to track down the suspect.

Meanwhile, community advocacy groups, including the North American Punjabi Association (NAPA), have expressed profound grief.

NAPA has strongly urged law enforcement to thoroughly determine the exact motive behind the tragic killing and ensure justice is served swiftly.
