UP Sanskrit Board Topper Stripped of Cash Prize Over Name and Age Fraud
The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad has cancelled the academic records of Rajneesh Yadav, the 2026 Uttar Madhyama (Class 12) board exam topper, following identity and age fraud allegations.
Yadav, who scored 89.36% and was felicitated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is accused of actually being Ajoy Kumar, born in 1998.
Investigations revealed he allegedly forged an Aadhaar card and transfer certificates to pose as a 2010-born student to bypass a criminal case. Authorities have cancelled all his certificates from High School to Intermediate levels.
Additionally, an order has been issued to recover his rewards, including a one lakh rupee cash prize, a gold medal, a tablet, and a certificate, treated as land revenue arrears.
An FIR has been registered against him for forgery, fabrication of documents, and cheating at the Aspur Devsara police station.
