Sanju Samson Breaks Silence on Being Dropped for 15-Year-Old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Sanju Samson has addressed the intense selection debates surrounding his omission in favor of 15-year-old rising prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi with remarkable maturity. Emphasizing a strong team-first mentality, Samson dismissed notions of dressing-room rivalry, making it clear that collective national success always supersedes individual ambitions.
Refusing to harbor bitterness over being sidelined or rotated, Samson remarked: "We can't sulk or be in a negative frame of mind, thinking, 'Yaar, mujhe nahi mila, usko kyun diya.' Those kinds of mindsets don't work here." Drawing from his extensive experience as an IPL captain, he acknowledged that juggling a talented pool of players poses tough selection dilemmas for the team management and coaching staff.
The speculation regarding Samson and Sooryavanshi intensified after the team management rotated opening slots among Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and the teenage sensation. Instead of letting the setback affect him, Samson answered his critics on the field with a stunning, match-winning 57 off just 22 balls against Afghanistan. His response underscores a balanced approach: welcoming the emergence of young talent while relentlessly fighting to reclaim and cement his permanent spot in the national side.
