SpiceJet Under Fire: Delhi Passengers Protest Over 24-Hour Dubai Flight Delays

Chaos erupted at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport as roughly 200 passengers staged furious sit-in protests against SpiceJet.

Travellers raised slogans of "SpiceJet chor hai" after two Dubai-bound flights, SG 5111 and SG 5105, faced massive delays stretching over 24 hours.

Stranded since Monday morning, frustrated flyers reported a severe lack of communication, absent ground staff, and no initial arrangements for food or proper hotel accommodation.

The situation quickly spiralled, forcing airport authorities to intervene and distribute refreshments while pressing the airline for answers.

SpiceJet blamed the ordeal on operational reasons following an unexpected aircraft grounding, issuing a public apology and promising alternate travel arrangements.

However, the incident has reignited heavy criticism regarding budget carrier reliability and passenger mistreatment during severe disruptions.
