Trump Announces End to $4 Billion Annual U.S. Aid to Israel
In a major foreign policy shift, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States will end its $4 billion annual military aid package to Israel at the conclusion of 2026.
Speaking during an interview on Fox & Friends, Trump stated that he reached a mutual understanding with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to phase out the financial assistance.
He pointed to Israel's robust economy and military strength, asserting that the nation no longer requires direct financial grants.
Trump also noted that foreign spending had become a sharp political talking point during the midterms.
While direct funding allocations will cease under this new timeline, Israel will retain access to purchase American military equipment and defense hardware.
The decision accelerates plans to transition the U.S.–Israel bilateral relationship from traditional foreign aid recipient status toward a defense-technology partnership and commercial purchasing model.
