Delhi’s Janpath CM Bungalow Restored for ₹6.5 Crore
The official New Delhi residence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, located at Bungalow No. 1, Janpath Road, has undergone a comprehensive ₹6.5-crore restoration by central public sector enterprise NBCC (India) Limited.
The nearly century-old, colonial-era property was in a dilapidated state before work began. Over three and a half months, NBCC executed extensive structural retrofitting to reinforce the building while preserving its heritage architectural charm.
The upgraded property blends modern interior aesthetics with sustainable, net-zero energy design concepts and enhanced surrounding green spaces. NBCC Chairman and Managing Director Dr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy highlighted that restoring the historic landmark demanded high engineering precision alongside strict timelines.
The fully restored heritage bungalow was formally handed over on October 22, 2026, receiving appreciation from CM Naidu for balancing historic preservation with contemporary utility for official state duties.
