Senior IPS Officer & Tripura Police Chief Anurag Dhankar Found Dead
Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar was found dead at the police headquarters in Agartala.
The 1994-batch IPS officer was rushed to Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital, where doctors declared him dead despite extended CPR efforts.
Preliminary findings suggest a suspected case of suicide, though an unnatural death case has been registered to investigate the exact cause.
Chief Minister Manik Saha and top officials visited the site.
Dhankar, a decorated officer who previously served with the CBI and UN, had assumed charge as state police chief in May 2025.
