Trump Cancels Iran Strikes Following Tehran’s Deal Request
US President Donald Trump announced he called off imminent US and Israeli military strikes against Iran after Tehran and regional allies requested a pause to negotiate a sweeping agreement.
Trump stated that forces were "locked and loaded" when the request arrived, and he agreed to halt the attack subject to rapidly finalizing a deal.
However, a major catch remains attached to the reprieve. The diplomatic opening is entirely conditional on achieving the immediate and total opening of the Strait of Hormuz and a permanent end to Iran's nuclear program.
Furthermore, ongoing maritime blockades will stay in place until a formal treaty is signed.
Skeptics point out that past diplomatic efforts have faced sudden collapses, and independent confirmation from Iranian authorities regarding a finalized framework is still pending.
If rapid negotiations stall, military planners remain prepared to instantly reactivate strike packages against Iranian infrastructure.
