Sachin Pilot Dismisses BJP as Non-Threat, Labels SAD Smaller Adversary in Punjab

NEW DELHI: Congress general secretary and Punjab in-charge Sachin Pilot has asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) poses no serious electoral threat in Punjab, describing them as actors merely searching for political footing. Dismissing the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) as a "smaller adversary," Pilot emphasized that the primary political battle in the state remains squarely against the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Speaking on the shifting regional dynamics ahead of upcoming electoral contests, Pilot criticized central BJP leaders' outreach efforts—including anti-drug marches—labeling them ineffective and disconnected from ground realities. He claimed both national and legacy regional outfits are struggling to reclaim lost political capital.
Instead, the Congress leadership is directing its full firepower at the incumbent AAP administration, launching aggressive attacks over deteriorating law and order, financial mismanagement, and the persistent drug crisis. Highlighting a unified front within the state unit, Pilot expressed strong confidence that Congress is well-positioned to unseat the current government and emerge as the definitive alternative for the public.
