NMC Issues Conditional Renewals to 800+ Medical Colleges
New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued conditional renewals to over 800 Indian medical colleges for the 2026–27 session. The move safeguards upcoming MBBS admissions from disruptions while putting deficient institutions on notice.
Colleges have a strict 45-day ultimatum to rectify critical gaps in faculty, infrastructure, and patient load. Shifting to continuous compliance, the NMC will conduct surprise physical or virtual inspections after this grace period.
Standardized renewal letters warn that colleges failing to meet the criteria face severe penalties, including reduced seat capacity or complete admission freezes, enforcing year-round educational standards.
