‘I Order You’ : Litigant Flings Papers and Commands Supreme Court Judges

New Delhi: A Supreme Court courtroom turned chaotic when a petitioner, Prabal Pratap, bypassed legal arguments to command the bench. Appearing in-person before Justices K.V. Viswanathan and Alok Aradhe, Pratap aggressively demanded, "Mr. judicial servant, I order you to order an FIR against the ACP, Vikasnagar, Lucknow."

When questioned by the startled bench, the litigant doubled down. He alleged a nationwide cybercrime syndicate, abruptly stated, "That's all from my side," and dramatically flung his 155-page case file into the air.

He used expletives and shouted that the scattered documents should be handed directly to the Chief Justice of India (CJI), prompting security personnel to escort him out.

While the bench noted his "incoherent and unparliamentary utterances," they showed restraint and chose not to initiate contempt proceedings considering his visible state. However, finding no legal merit, the court officially dismissed the petition.
