Delhi Police Clear CJP Protest Site After Leaders Meet Union Minister J.P. Nadda
Security forces cleared the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demonstration site at Jantar Mantar and dismantled tents following a high-stakes march toward Parliament on the opening day of the Monsoon Session.
Police deployed tear gas and barricades to disperse thousands of protesters demanding educational reforms and accountability for examination paper leaks.
The crackdown coincided with a meeting between a CJP delegation, including spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, and Union Minister J.P. Nadda at his residence.
The leaders submitted a petition with three key demands: the immediate release of activist Sonam Wangchuk from hospital detention, the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and ₹1 crore compensation for families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide.
Minister Nadda requested time to consult government leadership while urging demonstrators to restore normalcy. CJP leaders stated their peaceful agitation will continue until their demands are formally addressed.
