CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Held Under Preventive Arrest; AISA President Neha Bora Released
Delhi Police detained several student and political activists ahead of a planned "Lehra Do Tiranga" protest march in Connaught Place, New Delhi.
The demonstrations, organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), aimed to demand the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
AISA national president Neha Bora was released from overnight detention after completing formal procedures under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act.
Upon her release, she condemned the police crackdown, accusing authorities of employing intimidation tactics against peaceful student protesters.
Meanwhile, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was placed under preventive arrest pursuant to Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) due to apprehensions of a potential breach of the peace.
According to law enforcement officials, Dipke had previously signed a ₹50,000 peace bond pledging to maintain public order for a year.
Police stated he violated this bond by participating in the rally and disregarding official notices prohibiting his presence near Central Park.
He is slated to appear before a Special Executive Magistrate court. Approximately 150 demonstrators were briefly detained across central Delhi to maintain public order during the tensions.
