Rajnath Singh Slams INDIA Bloc Over Anti-CEC Protests, Accuses Opposition of Conspiracy to Seize Power by Anarchy
Lucknow: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a scathing attack against the Congress-led INDIA bloc, accusing them of attempting a "conspiracy to seize power by anarchy." Speaking at a press conference in Lucknow, Singh claimed that the opposition is fueling youth-led protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Election Commission to force political unrest, drawing parallels to recent developments in Bangladesh.
The controversy stems from widespread opposition protests regarding the ECI's electoral processes. Singh strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi, alleging that the opposition is trying to spread disorder while carrying copies of the Constitution as a political prop. He referenced historical events like the 1975 Emergency and the 1984 anti-Sikh riots to underscore his point about Congress's political track record.
Singh urged the opposition to respect India's democratic framework and public mandates, warning that constitutional bodies should not be undermined for short-term political opportunism or disruption politics. The ruling party's statements follow heightened political demonstrations and security measures surrounding the national capital's anti-CEC protests
