TV Actor Rohit Chandel Arrested in Mumbai for Stalking and Assaulting Minor
Mumbai: Television actor Rohit Chandel, known for his role in Pandya Store, has been arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly stalking, harassing, and physically assaulting a 16-year-old girl. The 29-year-old actor was apprehended from his Dahisar residence following a complaint filed by the minor’s family.
According to law enforcement, Chandel had been repeatedly harassing the teenager via phone calls from multiple numbers. The situation escalated when he allegedly confronted her near her residential building, resulting in a heated argument where he verbally abused and physically assaulted her.
The Pant Nagar Police have registered a case against Chandel under Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, alongside Sections 78 (stalking) and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He has been remanded to police custody while authorities gather CCTV footage and statements.
