After long talks with Akhilesh, Jayant Chaudhary agreed on 36 seats! may be announced soon
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Jayant Choudhary tweeted pictures of their meeting on Tuesday, fueling speculation that the two parties are ready to forge an alliance ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections next year. Huh.
Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Choudhary shared pictures with captions that indicate an alliance has formed between the regional parties.
Rashtriya Lok Dal state president Masood Ahmed told news agency PTI that the two leaders discussed the issue of seat-sharing in the 2022 UP assembly elections during their meeting on Tuesday, but did not take a final decision.
By the end of the month, Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhary can announce the seat sharing formula in UP.
According to sources, Rashtriya Lok Dal had initially demanded 62 seats, but the Samajwadi Party was not ready to give more than 30 seats. In the end, the Samajwadi Party has agreed to leave 36 seats for the RLD. After a long discussion between Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhary on Thursday, it is being said that this deal will be confirmed. RLD has a strong presence in districts like Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Bijnor, Meerut, Saharanpur.
