Tragic Ahmedabad Firecracker Blast Kills At Least Six
A devastating explosion and subsequent fire completely destroyed an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit in the Ramol area of Ahmedabad, leaving at least six people dead and nearly ten others injured.
The blast, which occurred on farmland along the Ramol-Gatrad Road, was so powerful that it was heard five kilometers away. Debris and victims were scattered across nearby fields. Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel from a neighboring camp and local fire services rushed to the scene to launch rescue operations, moving the injured to local civil hospitals.
Authorities confirmed the facility was operating illegally without a valid license. Police are filing a case for culpable homicide not amounting to murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Explosives Act. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed deep grief, announcing financial ex-gratia relief for the victims' families.
