Speaker Birla approves merger of rebel SS(UBT) with Shinde-led Shiv Sena
In a massive blow to Uddhav Thackeray, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla officially recognized the merger of six rebel Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs into Eknath Shinde’s faction.
The parliamentarians who switched allegiances are Sanjay Bandu Jadhav, Bhausaheb Wakchoure, Omraje Nimbalkar, Sanjay Dina Patil, Sanjay Deshmukh, and Nagesh Patil Ashtikar.
Following the Lok Sabha Secretariat's updated party position circular, the Shinde group's strength in the Lower House increases from 7 to 13 MPs.
This crucial shift elevates them to the second-largest ally within the ruling NDA right before the Parliament's upcoming Monsoon Session.
