UP BJP Alarmed by Student Protests Over Exam Leaks as 2027 Election Pressure Mounts

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh is facing rising anxiety among its ranks as youth-led protests over competitive exam paper leaks and police crackdowns intensify ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

Party insiders acknowledge that youth anger over recruitment irregularities contributed significantly to the BJP's setbacks in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Recent harsh police actions against student demonstrators have severely damaged public perception, alienating families with job-aspiring youth. With opposition parties actively championing the student cause and framing it as administrative failure, grassroots workers are facing tough public scrutiny.

In response, the UP BJP leadership has launched urgent damage control measures, prioritizing direct student outreach to bridge trust deficits. Simultaneously, the party is attempting to counter the narrative by aggressively highlighting recruitment mismanagement under previous opposition regimes in the state.

The NEET-UG controversy and nationwide student unrest have triggered fierce protests across Uttar Pradesh, including major hubs like Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Varanasi. Youth collectives and opposition parties have taken to the streets, clashing with security forces and demanding systemic exam reforms.
