Single Word in Diary Reunites Missing Man With Family After 10 Years

A single word scribbled in a diary has miraculously reunited a mentally unwell man with his family in Uttar Pradesh nearly ten years after he went missing.

Sub-Inspector Vinod Fartyal of the Almora district police in Uttarakhand noticed the distressed, wandering man who was unable to communicate his identity or background.

Recognizing his condition, the observant officer handed him a pen and a diary, gently asking him to write down anything that came to mind. The man simply penned the word: "Rajepur".

Acting on this crucial lead, Uttarakhand police contacted the Rajepur police station in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad district.

Authorities quickly tracked down his family, identifying him as Shyam Singh, who had disappeared a decade ago during a period of severe mental health struggles.

His overjoyed family members, who had long assumed him dead, traveled to Uttarakhand to finally bring him home after ten heartbreaking years apart.
