PM Modi Promises Tougher Anti-Paper Leak Measures in Cabinet Meet
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Union Cabinet will discuss a new draft proposal on Friday to enforce stricter measures against paper leaks and examination fraud.
To ensure swift justice, the proposal directs relevant departments to establish dedicated fast-track courts for the rapid trial of offenders.
The upcoming legislation introduces harsher penalties and stringent punitive measures targeting organized syndicates and individuals involved in compromising public exams.
Following Cabinet approval, the government plans to introduce the Bill in Parliament during the second week of the ongoing session for immediate passage.
PM Modi emphasized that while executive action has already led to multiple arrests, stronger legal frameworks are essential.
The move follows recent efforts to protect the academic futures of over 2.2 million students affected by exam irregularities, complementing steps like the Delhi High Court's designation of specialized fast-track courts under the Public Examinations Act.
