Nilekani Leads New Task Force to Overhaul India's Exam System

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appointed Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani to lead a high-powered task force on examination reforms. This decisive move follows intense student backlash and widespread controversies over paper leaks in major public tests like NEET.

The elite multidisciplinary panel features prominent experts, including former ISRO chief S. Somanath and IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti.

Its primary mandate is to leverage advanced technology to overhaul the National Testing Agency, ensuring complete transparency, security, and tamper-proof administration for millions of students.

Concurrently, the government is cracking down on exam fraud through stringent legislation under the Public Examinations Act, alongside fast-track judicial measures.

This comprehensive initiative aims to completely restore institutional credibility and rebuild public trust in India's competitive examination framework.
