L K Advani admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi


New Delhi : Around a month after being discharged, senior BJP leader L K Advani was admitted to Delhi’s Apollo Hospital again on Tuesday. The 96-year-old is stable and under observation, according to sources in the know of the matter.

Advani has been admitted under the care of neurologist Dr Vinit Suri.

Days before his admission at Apollo Hospital last month, Advani was also admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Advani served as the deputy prime minister of India from 2002 to 2004 and as the Union home minister from 1999 to 2004.

In March, Advani was conferred the country’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, by President Droupadi Murmu at his residence. The ceremony was attended by Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and Advani’s family members. PM Modi also met him before forming his third government.
