Delhi Police Arrest Seven in ₹3.93 Crore Cyber Fraud with Hawala Links
The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of Delhi Police has arrested seven men in connection with a major ₹3.93 crore cyber fraud scheme.
The investigation began after a Delhi-based financial worker reported 149 unauthorized transactions draining his bank account.
A targeted week-long operation across Bikaner and Jodhpur in Rajasthan led to the arrests and the recovery of 45 chequebooks, 25 passbooks, 45 ATM cards, and 13 mobile phones. Police successfully froze ₹1.78 crore of the stolen funds.
Investigators revealed that the accused routed the defrauded money through multiple mule accounts before withdrawing large cash amounts.
Key coordinator Brij Lal allegedly funneled the cash into illegal hawala channels and converted it into Tether (USDT) cryptocurrency using a foreign money-exchange app to obscure the financial trail. Further investigation remains ongoing.
