Bihar Vigilance Raids: Bureaucrat Couple Caught With Rs 80 Lakh Cash, 48 Watches
The Bihar Vigilance Investigation Bureau unmasked major financial irregularities following coordinated raids on the premises of a bureaucrat couple.
The anti-corruption operation targeted Ravindra Kumar Diwakar, an Additional Collector in Patna, and his wife Kumari Sweety, a Sub-Registrar in Danapur, after an FIR accused them of holding wealth disproportionate to their known income by roughly 47 percent.
Simultaneous search operations executed across multiple properties in Patna and Begusarai uncovered staggering assets.
Investigators seized nearly 80 lakh rupees in cash, comprising over 70 lakh rupees from their Patna flat and 9.44 lakh rupees from Begusarai.
The teams also recovered 48 luxury wristwatches and extensive gold, silver, and diamond jewelry valued at over 52 lakh rupees.
Furthermore, the raids exposed seven immovable properties, including premium flats and land plots registered between 2017 and 2026, with an estimated official valuation of 2.92 crore rupees.
Authorities also confiscated high-end electronics, investment documents, and an SUV.
Following the execution of warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Court, officials have initiated formal proceedings to freeze the couple's bank accounts while continuing their extensive investigation.
