Ashok Leyland appoints Shenu Agarwal as MD, CEO
New Delhi : Hinduja group flagship Ashok Leyland on Thursday said it has appointed Shenu Agarwal as MD and CEO of the company with immediate effect.
Agarwal will drive the technology development, growth, and future strategy for the company towards achieving its vision to be among the top ten commercial vehicle players globally, the Chennai-based commercial vehicle maker said in a statement.
He joins the company from Escorts Kubota, where he was designated as president.
He was also the company's agribusiness CEO for more than seven years.
Agarwal is expected to drive the technology development, growth and future strategy for Ashok Leyland towards achieving its vision to be among the top 10 commercial vehicle (CV) players globally.

Ashok Leyland executive chairman Dheeraj Hinduja said that Agarwal has a proven track record as a leader from a business conglomerate and is an all-rounder having worked in different capacities in many disciplines.
"Our focus on reliability, ambition to achieve global scale, and our constant pursuit of enhancing stakeholder value at Ashok Leyland will get further strengthened with Shenu at the helm. I am optimistic that the company will carve new niches in the mobility sector soon under his stewardship and I wish him the very best for the future," Hinduja added.
Ashok Leyland recorded a growth of 45.81% in domestic CV volumes to 13,654 units in November 2022 from 9,364 units in November 2021. The company's cumulative volumes (domestic + exports) jumped 38.94% to 14,561 units in November 2022 from 10,480 units in November 2021.
